Hoist Trolleys

Most hoist applications also include a trolley. Trolleys are of three basic types; push, hand geared, and motor driven. Push trolleys are powered by the operator pulling on the load or pendant assembly strain relief. Hand geared trolleys are propelled by pulling a hand chain that in turn rotates the wheels in a forward or reverse direction.  Motor driven trolleys are moved by the power of the motor controlled from a push button station.
For applications under two tons, most trolleys are of the push type. Over two tons, motor driven is recommended.  Hand geared trolleys are used for specialized applications normally requiring careful spotting of heavy loads where little trolley movement is required.  Most trolleys are sold as an integral part of the hoist, and in fact, most motor driven trolleys and lug mount push trolleys must be designed for the specific brand of hoist to which they are applied.
