Interlocks:

     Crane and monorail systems can be joined end to end through the use of interlocks. This gives you the ability to transfer loads from one system to another without the need to change from one hoist to another.  Interlocks can be operated manually by pulling ropes or chains, or they can be operated through the push button pendant with an electric motor.
